About Us
Established in California, 2024. Reyleigh is a modern lifestyle brand tailored to the sport of skydiving.
Designed for the enthusiasts of life. To living wisely, intentionally, and passionately.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to bring value to the sport of skydiving and to the enthusiasts of life. This may take the form of creating functional, skydive-specific clothing in addition to our line of lifestyle apparel, participating in efforts to increase accessibility to skydiving, inspiring the next generation of skydivers, repurposing old, unusable gear, supporting skydiving businesses.
Rayleigh Scattering: a physics phenomena
Explanation
Incoming solar particles (consisting of all colors) are deflected, or scattered, off of nitrogen and oxygen molecules in the atmosphere. Blue light scatters more than the other colors because it has a shorter wavelength (more energy). Rayleigh Scattering is the reason why the sky is blue!
Our Story
While completing his A-license in the summer of 2023, Trevor Shin was eagerly looking for a lifestyle brand to wear as the sport was becoming a larger part of his life. To his surprise, everyday apparel brands centered around the skydiving were nearly non-existent, with options limited to flashy jerseys and Etsy designs. Now a B-licensed skydiver and looking forward to a long-term involvement in the sport, Trevor decided to create Reyleigh.
Tailored to the sport of skydiving, Reyleigh stands for much more than just that. It is a tribute to the seekers of life; to those who wish to use their time on earth intentionally.
Sustainability
Our Responsibilities
-
Better Cotton Initiative
The Better Cotton Initiative exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. BCI aims to transform cotton production worldwide by developing Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity.
-
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification is designed to ensure the effect the dyeing industry has on the environment is minimised and the garments are safe for consumers as well as the people who make and sell them.
-
Removing Plastics
Our garments are sourced from a manufacturer committed to eliminate single use plastics, and plastic in general, from their supply chain. While we are a small business without a supply chain of our own, Reyleigh is committed to sourcing materials as environmentally conscious as possible.
